One week after Nick Cannon confirmed his and ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell expecting a child, Mariah Carey is responding to the news. The Pop star tells Mario Lopez of Extra that she is happy for her children’s father.
“I’ll always be supportive of him,” Mariah says. “And this is all news to me, ’cause I didn’t know about this ’till maybe last week. I asked him a question and then he kinda said yes, but didn’t, and I’m like, it’s kinda confirmed … If he’s happy that’s great,” Carey shares.
Nick Cannon confirmed his and Brittany Bell’s expectancy during an interview with The Breakfast Club last week. “I got a baby on the way,” the celebrity dad gushed. “God said be fruitful and multiply. I’m doing the Lord’s work out here,” he added.
News of Cannon expanding his family tree is a surprise but not completely shocking. It was just a few months ago that the America’s Got Talent host told media that he was open to having more kids.
“I’m not against it,” he revealed. “I talk about that all the time. I love children. Everybody knows that. Whether it’s having more of my own, or adopting, whatever, I love that process. Kids kind of bring that vibrant side [out] of me so whenever I can be a part of that process I’m with it.”
Nick Cannon and Brittany Bell are expecting their little one to arrive in coming months. The celebrity father has two kids, Monroe and Moroccan, with ex-wife Mariah Carey who recently accompanied her to the taping of Disney’s Magical Holiday Celebration. The twins got to see their mom in action as Mariah was one of the performers.
