Kandi Burruss’ personal affairs took center stage during the most recent episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta. The celebrity mom was brought to tears after getting a surprise visit from Russell “Block” Spencer’s girlfriend.
Jamaican recording artist Kris Kelli stopped by Burruss’ Kandi Factory to have a heart-to-heart about Riley’s attitude towards her father. “I know it might seem funny to you for me coming out of the blue like this, but it’s kind of a concern that I’ve been having,” Kelli told Burruss. “I’m really all about families. I would love to see you both come together,” she added.

Although Kandi was appreciative of Kris’ concern, she told the recording artist that there was more to the story than what met the eye. “Riley at a certain point used to reach out to him, and he never really would reach back,” Burruss explained. As a result, Riley “put up this wall… She doesn’t want to deal with it.”
Although the barrier that Riley has formed between her and Russell pains Kandi, she understands where her daughter is coming from. “We really don’t talk,” Kandi told Sheree Whitfield after her meeting with Russell’s girlfriend. “I’ve always tried to be open whenever he reach out… [but] I don’t respect him no more.”
One of the central reasons why Kandi no longer respects Russell is because of the conversation that he and she had prior to Riley’s birth. Spencer told Burruss that he wasn’t looking forward to being a part of their daughter’s life and Kandi took his words to heart.
“I told him that day, ‘That’s fine motherf—–, because you’ll never have to worry about how she is. You’ll need her before she needs you.’ And I meant that s—. I meant it.”
Still, Kandi would prefer her daughter cultivate a relationship with her father. “I didn’t have a relationship with my father,” Kandi said during the most recent episode of RHOA. “I don’t want to see my child go through that.”
The celebrity mom later took to Instagram to further delve into her stance. “I hate that my baby daddy drama is a part of the show this season,” she explained. “I don’t know how to fix the situation at this point. My daughter is 14 and has put a wall up. If he wants to fix it then he’s gonna have to work and humble his self to build a relationship with her.”
Riley is Kandi Burruss and Russell “Block” Spencer’s only child together. Burruss welcomed a son named Ace with her husband, Todd Tucker, earlier this year.
