Hollywood was transformed into a scene straight out of the storyline. Moana is the film’s central character who uses her intuition to set sail for a fabled island. Demigod Maui accompanies Moana on the journey that comes with many highs and a few lows.

“I was so thrilled and surprised by how much collaboration goes into it,” says composer Lin-Manuel Miranda who wrote songs for the film. The artist goes on to tell media that working on a Disney project was quite intimidating. “You’re working with unmatched visual storytellers,” he says. Still, through all of the nervousness, Miranda and his co-workers managed to put together a family-friendly movie.

Salli Richardson certainly enjoyed spending premiere night with her family at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. “I love working but it’s nice to have some family time,” she told Instagram fans. “And the movie was one of Disney’s best,” Richardson added.

Miles Brown was also in attendance at Monday night’s premiere of Moana. The young star joined other celebrities in recommending the film.
