With $250,000.00 in his pocket, title of “America’s Favorite Dancer” on his resume, and a load of additional experience under his belt, Kida (a.k.a. Kida the Great or Lil Kida) is nowhere near slowing down and is quickly rising to the top of the professional dance world.
Born, Leon Burns, in Sacramento, California on April 8, 2002, this talented young man began dancing at the age of four and has not looked back yet, continuing to perfect his craft daily.
Before taking the prize on So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation, Kida has showed off his moves everywhere from viral vines to The Queen Latifah Show and Ellen. When asked by Bustle.com what was next on his list of things to do, the fourteen-year-old gave the must humbling answer as opposed to what one would expect.
“My next dance goals: I’m a teacher. I teach privates [dance lessons] back at where I live and I feel like, if I can expand that even more—and teach masterclasses or be able to show my inspiration to other kids—I would love to do that later in life.”
Keep your eyes peeled for new Kida updates. Recently, he appeared in Usher’s music video for “No Limit” featuring Young Thug and acted in an episode of the Fox drama series, Touch, with Kiefer Sutherland.
There’s no doubt that we will be seeing many great things in store years to come for this rising star! To join in the fun, follow Kida’s journey on Instagram here!
