The San Francisco 49ers Academy seeks to help impoverished children living in East Palo Alto. While it is true that Silicon Valley is one of the most wealthiest regions in the nation, many children whose parents do not hold significant positions in the tech industry are living in poverty because of the high cost of living. The San Franscisco 49ers Academy seeks to bridge the gap between the filthy rich and low-income residents by giving kids the essentials that they need to thrive in society.

According to the organization’s website,

“The 49ers Academy provides adolescent students with a community of support empowering them to be engaged in school, to reach their full potential and to make positive contributions to our world – one student at a time.”
