Cree Summer and her daughters, Brave and Hero, are taking on Santa Barbara. The actress recently shared pictures from the family’s vacation at the beautiful 78-acre Bacara Resort. Brave and Hero took full advantage of the beauty that is California.

The sisters were photographed while basking in the view from their hotel room. Brave’s full attention was given to the horizon while Hero set her sights on other things. “Early Morning Savagery,” Cree captioned. The celebrity mom also shared a picture of Hero enjoying the beach and hanging out with dad.

Many remember Cree from the hit series A Different World. The actress was the free-spirited character whose hair made a fashion statement. “Believe it or not, on A Different World, I was very unhappy with my hair,” Cree admitted during a recent interview. “People don’t know that,” she added.

“That was not a happy hair time for me but I’m happy that people were inspired by it, though. Debbie Allen had taken my hair and dyed it red and they used to curl it with a curling iron, and it wasn’t until I left A Different World at 23, that I learned how to do my hair and fell in love with it.”

Now, Cree shows off her curls. “When I started making records and touring with my music, I started loving my hair,” she shared. “It really became an identity… something for me to hide behind when I was insecure, and … to show off when I felt confident. But now I’m in a different stage, I’m in my 40’s, I’m a mother and it’s in a bun. I call it the Mom Bun.”

Hero and Brave are Cree Summer’s children with husband Angelo Pullen. Brave is the oldest sibling who celebrated her fifth birthday in March. Hero rang in her third birthday in January.
