Rhonda Ross is passing on the gift of music to her son. The singer recently shared pictures of her and Raif discovering the wonders of the guitar together.
“Been learning acoustic, but, uh oh, I am LOVING this electric,” Rhonda told fans. “With my boy, #RaifHenok in Maine for the #northatlanticbluesfestival2016,” she added.
Rhonda has been exploring her creative side as of late. The singer has embraced the musical legacy handed down to her from her mom, Diana Ross, after enjoying a stint as an educator.
“I knew somewhere deep down that instinctively I wanted a career that was more authentic, more organic,” Rhonda explains of her decision to teach during her younger years. “I’ve been writing all that time. I took time away to have my son. Once he was here, it was like I turned 40 and I thought, ‘I know who I am now. I know what I want to say now.’ I feel like I get it now. I see myself as a beginning of something so exciting.”
Raif is Rhonda Ross and husband Rodney Kendrick’s only child. He will celebrate his seventh birthday next month. Learn more about Rhonda Ross’ music here.
