Tia Mowry-Hardrict is focused on raising a son who is fearless. The actress tells The Stir that she teaches Cree to run to, and not away from, the things that make him unique.
“Of course we all have fears,” Tia shares. “But I want my son to grow up confident in who he is, and I think how I get him there is telling him what love is, showing him how to love himself, even with all the differences.”
At just 4-years-old, Cree has already been forced to deal with challenges to his esteem. “He’s already saying, ‘Mommy, my hair is long.’ He’s only 4 and kids are already starting to bully him about his long hair, saying, ‘Only girls have long hair,'” Mowry explains. “So I’m teaching him to embrace differences, and to love his own differences.”
Tia has shared numerous pictures of Cree and his beautiful curls with Instagram fans. Many followers can’t get enough of the youngster’s hair and often compliment Tia for keeping her son preen.
Cree is Tia and her husband Cory Hardrict’s only child. The little one will celebrate his fifth birthday in June.
