The Harris family mingled with friends at this year’s ‘Harlem Cares’ toy drive in New York. The charity event was held on Sunday and featured Yandy, Mendeeces and the kids having loads of fun.
Mrs. Harris took the stage to dance alongside up-and-coming choreographers who exhibited incredible skills while moving to the beat. Yandy was all smiles as she did her best to keep up with them.
Mendeeces was also in attendance at the toy drive, though he did not get groovy like his wife. The rapper instead spent precious moments with his kids and was even photographed while holding his daughter, Skylar.
Mendeecees will soon be separated from his family while serving eight years in prison for drug trafficking charges. The ‘Love & Hip Hop’ star was recently convicted by a judge for transferring heroin through Rochester several years ago. Mendeecees took to social media shortly after the sentencing to advise other young men to learn from his mistakes.
“In my past I made some bad decisions,” wrote the star in an open letter. “Young men let my life be an example to you now before it’s too late. Better who you are now in your children’s lives and in society so you can change the path of your fate. Lack of opportunities, a fatherless home, the unforgiven neighborhood and circumstances you grew up in can no longer be your excuse. Trust me I tried. And it doesn’t make the pain your family feels any different.”
The rapper went on to encourage his wife and children to remain strong. “You are all strong and well prepared for this,” said the artist. “This is just another brick laid down towards our house of happily ever after , walk with your head held high knowing I would never past the buck and put another family through what we have endured. Continue to walk in faith and love as you’ve done so well.”
Mendeecees and Yandy have two kids, Skylar and Omere, together. The rapper also has a son named Mendeecees Jr. from a previous relationship.
