Zendaya Coleman is broadening her horizons and doing big things in the industry. The young star recently modeled for Hunger magazine and released a music video for her new single ‘Close Up.’

During her interview with the publication, Miss Coleman discussed her music career that includes an upcoming album done in collaboration with Timbaland. “A lot of labels are afraid of the kind of music that I want to do, because it’s something different,” shared the star of her style. “I don’t necessarily want to make what’s already on the radio, or what every young girl my age is doing. I want longevity, and if you want a long career, you have to be happy with yourself so you don’t go crazy, and the only way to do that is to be yourself.”

Coleman also addressed her life as a Disney star and the possibility of transitioning out of the role of actress for the time being. “I’m not leaving the Disney Channel behind, nor am I leaving behind the kid fans, because they still exist. I’m just opening up the door to all the other people that could be possible fans, or would maybe enjoy my music. If you think of it like that then it’s more successful, because then you’re not alienating any group of people.”
