Glory Johnson and Brittney Griner are expecting a child. The couple shared the news with Instagram fans earlier this week.
“#SUCCESS #BLESSED #WelcomeToTheJohnsonGrinerFamily,” captioned Glory underneath a picture of a bun outside the oven. The WNBA star also released a statement about her pregnancy.
“It has always been a dream of mine to start a family with someone I love,” said Glory. “Being a professional athlete that plays year-round, there is never a perfect time to get pregnant without putting my career on hold. The entire process, from learning our fertility options, to making sacrifices necessary nine months before the child is born, is merely preparing me to become a great wife and an even better mother.”
The WNBA star went on to tell media that she plans to return to the WNBA “next season, stronger and more ready to play than ever.” This will be Glory and Brittney’s first child together.
