Brunch: “This shows my feminine side. It’s a sweet two-piece set and it’s just very feminine, very flowy—one of those looks that you can add edge to it with your hair and makeup, change it up. So you can either go super classic or you can go dark almost.”

On how she thinks fashion impacts her public persona:

I like to think of myself as a strong influence for young people, and I think a big thing about being young is finding out who you are, experimenting, not being afraid to try things, and not being afraid to really embrace who you are and what makes you happy. And I think fashion is a big part of that. You don’t have to care about what people think or let people determine your happiness. Do whatever the heck you want.

On her style in three words:

I would say, my style is pretty fearless, definitely unique but still classic.

Dinner With Friends: “I like this because it really reflects my personal style—it’s girly but it’s still very tomboy. You can take a simple shirt-dress type thing and funk it up.”

On her changing looks:

I really don’t have any fear especially when it comes to like my style. Someone could literally tell me “Put on a trash bag and wear some Louboutins” and I would do it, and I would feel comfortable in it—as long as I had the right hair, the right makeup, I would do it.

On how her everyday style versus her red carpet style:

I’m working all the time, so my everyday life is actually pretty dull. Right now I’m wearing a sweatshirt, denim and Nike Flyknits—just normal, casual, comfortable. Fashion when I’m on the red carpet gives me an outlet to have fun—to wear things that I wouldn’t wear on an everyday basis.

Red Carpet: “This look is cool because it’s a feminine silhouette again, but we did our own thing to it. We did the hair a little different and the makeup a little darker, so it wasn’t so put-together. We did something a little edgy just to add that extra wow-factor.”

On her first fashion memory:

Well I used to love to dress up. Even though I was a tomboy, I loved to dress up. I stopped letting my parents pick out my clothes when I was two years old. I was allowed to wear whatever, even if it didn’t match, and it was a complete and utter wreck of an outfit. They totally allowed me to just be myself, which I think is really important.

On beauty looks that she gravitates to:

I like to keep it pretty neutral, but it all depends on the look. My stylist and I, we go for a time or an era that fits in with our look. We grab a lot of inspiration from the past. So that’s with makeup as well.
