Leah Still is strong as ever and excited to share her story with the world. The 4-year-old recently sat beside her father, Devon Still, as he talked about how his daughter has made him a stronger man.
“I honestly didn’t know what true strength was and I didn’t think that a 4-year-old was going to come along and show me,” said Devon on CBS This Morning. The Cincinnati ‘Bengals’ player was told by doctors that Leah had stage four cancer last year. “There’s no rule book, there’s no directions on how to handle this, and we just handled it the best way we could,” shared the star.
In handling the diagnosis, Devon and Leah took to social media. “She loves taking pictures and making videos, so that was the first thing that came to mind, and it really put a smile on her face, and we didn’t really expect it to go viral like it did,” explained the NFL player. “It was just a moment me and my daughter were sharing.”
Although many have credited Still as a heroic father, the star athlete doesn’t see himself as the victor. “I honestly just see a father who is willing to do whatever for their daughter,” said the star. “I feel like any father that was put into this position would do the same thing that I did.”
Leah is Devon Still’s only child. She was deemed cancer-free earlier this year, after more than six months of battling with the disease.
