“We believe it’s in this child’s best interest to have two legal parents, and those parents are the people who brought about his conception, Lamar Sally and Sherri Shepherd,” said Lamar’s lawyer, Tiffany Palmer, in a recent statement.

Sally has been transparent about his and Sherri’s agreement concerning their son. “[Sherri] said, ‘I will love the baby like it’s mine,'” shared the screenwriter during an interview conducted shortly after his estranged wife refused to claim the little one as her child. “She never said she didn’t want the baby,” explained Lamar.

In addition to discussing the child, Lamar has also shared details about his and Sherri’s relationship with media. “I wanted her to be more responsible and aware of the household finances,” said the celebrity during a recent sit-down with Daily Mail. “I am very good with money, I have always put myself on a budget so it was irritating to me that she doesn’t take care of business. When we got married I ran the house and put my own career on hold.”

Little Lamar was born last July.
