Jillian Estell attended the premiere of her new film, Black or White. The event took place on January 20, at the Regal Cinemas L.A. Live.
Jillian stars as Eloise, a young mixed girl who is estranged from her father, and has lived with her white grandparents since her mother’s death. After her grandmother passes as well, it is up to her grandfather (Kevin Costner) to take on the role of sole parent — until her father’s mother makes an unexpected appearance.
Her paternal grandmother (Octavia Spencer) decides to fight for custody, but with “Poppa” unwilling to let the young girl fall into the arms of an unfit father, the trial leads the family to as very difficult question about who they are, and how they really feel about family and race. Meanwhile, Eloise remains a poised, mature, fun-loving girl dealing with the chaos and loss that surrounds her.
Previously, Jillian has only been cast in one other film, So This Is Christmas, but it looks as though Black or White will put this talented then on the map.
