The Obamas welcome the Christmas tree to the White House. Sasha and Malia stand beside mom and dad as President and First Lady Obama watch the large tree roll in. The First dog is also present for the significant event.
It was just a few days ago that Sasha and Malia stood nearby as their father pardoned one lucky turkey. The Obama girls were active participants in the ceremony, with facial expressions that were simply classic.
While many enjoyed the girls’ lively personalities, a few onlookers were offended by Sasha and Malia’s behavior. “Dear Sasha and Malia, I get it, you’re both in those awful teen years, but you’re part of the first family, try to show a little class,” said Elizabeth Lauten. The Republican congressional aide expressed her disappointment in the Obama girls’ behavior and attire in a Facebook rant shortly after the pardoning ceremony concluded.
Lauten went on on to criticize all members of the First Family writing, “Then again, your mother and father don’t respect their positions very much, so I’m guessing you come up short in the role model department.” The aide later apologized after thousands accused her of being a cyber bully. She has since resigned.
Sasha and Malia will help decorate the White House Christmas tree, and participate in the annual tree lighting ceremony in coming weeks.
