Nate Parker had a little help promoting his upcoming movie, Beyond the Lights, last week. The actor and his daughter were spotted while en route to ‘The Jimmy Kimmel Show,’ where she watched from the sidelines as he talked about the film.
Nate portrays Kaz, the police officer who saves superstar Noni (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) in Beyond the Lights. Kaz grabs hold of Noni just in time to keep her from jumping off the balcony of her hotel room. The officer tells the superstar, “I see you,” and so begins a love story that is filled with passion and conflict.
Although Kaz and Noni are deeply in love with one another, her mom and his father are opposed to the relationship. According to Noni’s mom, Kaz doesn’t have enough star power to be with her daughter. Kaz’s father is a critic of Noni because she is an R&B singer and not a churchgoing woman. Both Noni and Kaz must navigate through the scrutiny to discover the love that is beyond the lights of Hollywood.
Nate Parker has three daughters. Beyond the Lights comes to theaters on Friday, November 14, 2014.
