Jillian Michaels wants moms to take time for themselves. The fitness guru tells Mix 102.3 about her newfound attitude that allows her to spend time with the kids while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
“I think we need an attitude shift because we tend to fall under the attitude of all or nothing,” says the star of her years before parenthood. “I remember when I would say, before kids, ‘Put your self first. You must prioritize your health and happiness, and when you do you’ll be a better mom, a better wife, a better co-worker.’ And then, of course, you have kids and you’re like, ‘Well, that’s obviously not a possibility.'”
Even though it isn’t possible to be the center of attraction after having kids, Jillian tells mothers that they can still take time for themselves. “When you have that attitude shift you’re like, ‘Alright, there’s got to be a balance,'” explains the star. “I have to find a way to give my work some attention, my children some attention, and my health some attention.'”
