MEKAI CURTIS STARS AS FISH IN DISNEY’S NEWEST SHOW “KIRBY BUCKETS”

This Monday marks the premier of an all-new Disney series Kirby Buckets. The show stars Jacob Bertrand as the title character, along with his two best buds, Fish and Eli, portrayed by Mekai Curtis and Cade Sutton.

14-year-old Mekai Curtis New Jersey native takes on the role of Fish, a smooth and confident teen. Mekai is now living in L.A. with his family. His hobbies include football, basketball, and playing the drums.

The young actor has been garnering some attention for his guest starring roles on Girl Meets World and Arrested Development along with a part in this fall’s big motion picture, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. This will be his first role as a main character on a series.

The show follows Kirby, at 13-year-old with big dreams of becoming an animator. As he and his friends deal with day-to-day life in their eccentric town of Forest Hill, his imagination runs wild. The show is a mixed-media production that utilizes both live-action and animation.

In the first episode, “Cars, Buses and Lawnmowers”, Kirby hears of a character design contest for which the prize is a meet-and-greet with his hero, animator Mac Macallister. Naturally, Kirby will do just about anything for his chance to win. But when he finds himself stranded at school with Fish and Eli, the trio will need to devise a doozie of a plan to make it out in time.

The episode is already available to verified users via WATCHDisneyXD.com, and will air on the network Monday, October 20 at 8pm.
