We haven’t seen much of Phaedra Parks since her husband, Apollo Nida, was convicted and sentenced to several years in prison for fraud. The ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star did, however, manage to make an appearance on ‘Ellen’ earlier this week in which she talked about the heartache that she has experienced since Apollo has been gone.
“It is extremely hard,” said Phaedra of her current situation. “My heart aches for my two sons because they are the heart and soul of who I am. That’s the best thing we ever did together. We have these great kids. I never wanted to do anything to diminish his character in public. But we’ve had some times where he’s done things that weren’t so cool… weren’t so nice.”
Parks further discussed her husband and his most recent encounter with the justice system telling Ellen, “I went out of my way to get him the best attorneys, the best investigators, and to do everything I could. I’m an attorney myself and so I wanted him to have the best so we could fight this together, but obviously it did not turn out like that.”
Apollo pleaded guilty to fraud in federal court a few months back, and was sentenced to eight years in prison. He and Phaedra have two sons, Ayden and Dylan, together.
