Namiko is finding her way in the music industry. The little one recently joined mom Jhene Aiko on her single ‘Promises.’ Namiko responded to Jhene’s singing as she told her mom that she would be “alright.”
Aiko’s lyrics are caught up in the possibility of the unimaginable occurring. The singer needs to know that her daughter would survive if anything were to happen to her. This is where Namiko comes in and tells her mom, “I promise I’ll be alright” if anything happens.
Jhene explained the significant meaning behind ‘Promises’ prior to her newest album’s release. “It’s something I wanted to leave her, if we’re not together for any reason, just something she could always listen to, even when she gets older,” said the recording artist. “It’s just about letting her know that everything will be okay even if I can’t always be there.”
The singer also wrote the song in memory of her brother who passed away two years ago. “[I’m] singing to him, letting him know that I’m okay, that he’ll never have to worry about me.”
Jhene’s brother died of cancer just days after giving his Twitter followers a hearty laugh. Namiko is the singer’s daughter with O’Ryan.
