“Too many kids will go back to school hungry this year, but we can do something about that,” Zendaya announced.
The singer has begun a campaign in association with Convoy of Hope, through which her goal is to raise enough donations to feed at least 150 children in Haiti, Tanzania, and the Philippines, by her 18th birthday on September 1st. To be a part of this special initiative, Zendaya’s fans can visit feedone.com/Zendaya or simply text ZHOPE to 50555 to give 10$, enough to feed one child. “My generation has the opportunity to change the world,” the starlet said proudly.
Zendaya has been dedicated to Convoy of Hope since Hurricane Sandy devastated parts of New York and New Jersey in 2012. Since then, the young celeb has been promoting their work and urging the public to donate to their causes. Hal Donaldson, president and co-founder of the organization spoke fondly of her philanthropy. “We’re so grateful that Zendaya is using her platform to raise awareness for those in need,” he continued, “We look forward to continuing to partner with her in the future.”
Convoy of Hope is a faith-based, international, humanitarian-relief organization, located in the cross-roads of America – Missouri. They seek to provide help and hope to those afflicted by poverty, hunger, and pain.
On her instagram, Zendaya posted “please help me make this the best birthday yet… every bit counts.”
