With her son by her side, Mashonda stepped up to host The Children’s Justice Campaign Benefit this weekend in support of children’s rights is family courts.
The Campaign aims to highlight and educate about the injustices within the U.S. family courts system which are ill-equipped to handle cases of domestic and sexual abuse. As a result, it is estimated that 58,000 children a year are court ordered for custody or unsupervised visitation with reported abusers. The CJC looks to fight these unjustifiable numbers by raising awareness and calling for accountability within the system.
Mashonda proudly posted her support on instagram, writing “Thank you God for giving me the wisdom to raise my son with HIS best interest at heart.” Kaseem Jr. is now seven years old, fathered by the singer’s former husband, Swizz Beatz.
She also posted, “Amazing event with an incredible cause. I’m so honored to be a host and have a voice on this subject.. Please educate yourself”.
