Diggy Simmons and Trevor Jackson took time to rally for “Start Strong”, part of Detroit’s “Get Schooled” event, Monday August 11. The event is meant to motivate kids to take school seriously, and improve attendance in the city. A competition is being held during the first two weeks of back-to-school, the school with the best attendance record will be rewarded with a Taco Bell truck. The young celebs had an important message to contribute to the cause; they told the children, “do what you have to do, so you can do what you want to do.”
Diggy and Trevor encouraged the students to recognize the importance of starting off a school year fresh and on the right track to ensure a path to success. In an interview with Fox, Diggy pointed out that even kids looking to break into entertainment need to understand the value of hard work, of being on time, and of being dedicated. “It’s just about hard work and perseverance, and that goes into school, and that goes into the workplace”, he added.
While at the event, the performers not only gave inspiring speeches, but also participated in a variety of activities with the attendees. It’s always great to see young stars spreading positive messages to connect with their fans.
