Few things make the president tear up like the thought of his daughters growing up. The Commander in Chief delivered a commencement speech to high school students a few days ago, where he told the kids that he was preparing for the day that Malia will be done with high school and off to college.
“I’m trying to get used to not choking up and crying and embarrassing her. So this is sort of my trial run here,” said the president.
Obama also talked about the advice that he and First Lady Michelle give Malia for selecting the right college. “We tell her, ‘Don’t assume that there are 10 schools that you have to go to, and if you didn’t go to those 10, that somehow things are going to be terrible. There are a lot of schools out there.”
Malia will be in the 11th grade when the upcoming school year begins this Fall. President and First Lady Obama have two kids.
