Pras Michel is enjoying the high life while his son is living near the poverty line. The Fugees rapper has allegedly failed to pay enough child support to ex-girlfriend Angela Severiano, and now their 4-year-old son has to suffer.
Severiano told the courts earlier this week that she and her son live in a studio apartment in Manhattan that is cramped to no end while Michel pays $50,000 per month to rent apartments in Soho and Los Angeles. Angela claimed that she sleeps in the living room while her son rests in an area that has been designated as the bedroom.
“This isn’t about [Pras],” said Angela to media after her case. “It’s about my son who lives in a shoebox. [Michel] has been fighting against his own son’s well being.”
Pras earned over $1 million last year, and recently took a private jet to attend the World Cup game in Brazil. The rapper currently pays $3,000 per month in child support but Angela is petitioning the courts to increase that amount to $7,000.
