America’s Got Talent host, Nick Cannon, admits that he would never want his children to be on T.V. Instead, he hopes his twins will grow up to shoot for more academic futures.
“A nuclear scientist – can I get one of those? Can I get a heart surgeon in the family?”, he joked. And yet, he was clearly being very honest when he said, “I don’t want my kids to be on TV, that’s the only thing [I don’t want them to do]”. While it may seem strange considering he and wife Mariah Carey have had their children in the spotlight since they were born three years ago, it’s not the first time Nick has expressed a desire to remove them from the limelight.
The T.V. personality recently announced that he would be teaming up with Scholastic to create a book series in which the characters would be based on his children’s images. He explained that he hoped it would be a happy medium between having them in the public eye, and allowing them their privacy. “I understand that people have fallen in love with them and [they have] fans and stuff,” he said. But he remains adamant that stardom is not the life he wishes to give them.
