Gabi Wilson simply shined at the BET Awards this weekend. The 17 year old music protege has been making waves for some time now, but her performance of her new single, “Something to Prove” showed the world that she in fact does not have something to prove. Her talent speaks for itself.
The soulful teen shredded her guitar strings, and pounded away at her keyboard, and although her show was brief, it was enough to remind us all of why she turned heads on Youtube at only 12, compared to the great Alicia keys.
Hosted by Chris Rock, the event, which took place in the heart of L.A. boasted a star-studded line-up which included Pharrell Williams, Usher, Drake, and more. The ceremony was preceded by a weekend of festivities and concerts.
