Inspired by the actors on his favorite Nickelodeon shows, Marcanthonee Reis told his parents that he wanted to conquer Hollywood — he was just 5 years-old at the time. Three years later, after guest starring on some of primetime’s biggest shows, including Grey’s Anatomy, GLEE, and Parenthood, among others, the 8 year-old actor is well on his way to achieving his goal. And with his big screen debut in Joon-ho Bong’s award-winning film, Snowpiercer, slated to premiere at Opening Night of the prestigious LA Film Festival, Reis is becoming a a sought-after child actor.
In Snowpiercer, Marcanthonee co-stars alongside Octavia Spencer and Tilda Swinton, and Oscar nominated actors John Hurt and Ed Harris. Marcanthonee (as Octavia Spencer’s son) gives a memorable performance in the dramatic thriller that takes place in a future where a failed global-warming experiment kills off all life on the planet except for a lucky few that boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe.
What was Marcanthonee’s favorite part of filming with the star-studded cast in Prague? “I loved walking around the city and hanging with Octavia” and of course, “we went to see ‘The Avengers’ and the next day, I was filming with Chris Evans.”
In his free time, Marcanthonee spends his free time playing video games, swimming, wall ball, and reading comic books.
“Snowpiercer” premiered Wednesday, June 11 at Opening Night of the LA Film Festival. For tickets: www.lafilmfest.com.
