Life is good for R&B singer Monica Brown. Not only does the artist have sons who are over-achievers in school but she also has a daughter who is beginning to crawl.
Brown recently shared pictures of the family at Romelo Rodney Jr.’s awards ceremony, where the boys received much recognition for their dedication and hard work at school. “Rocko received 6 awards!!! He was the first recipient of the Above & Beyond Award for his 4.0 GPA but his overall dedication to learning & great behavior,” wrote Monica on Instagram. The star also talked about Romelo, who was the recipient of five awards.
The ‘So Gone’ singer talked about her eldest son’s experience with a teacher who wrongfully disciplined him during a Box Tops Panel Discussion earlier this year. “You have to know your child and really be involved,” said Monica of the incident. “I know my son. He does what he’s told. I was able to handle it in a positive way. I spoke with the principal, the other teachers and the students and we were able to resolve it because I’m active.”
In addition to celebrating her son’s academic accomplishments this past weekend, Monica also basked in the glory of having a baby girl who is now crawling. “Uhhhh ohhhhhhh were off to the races now LOL,” wrote Monica next to a video of Laiyah finding her way. See Laiyah go here!
Monica and husband Shannon Brown have one child, Laiyah, together. Rodney and little brother Romelo are the R&B singer’s kids with ex-boyfriend Rodney “Rocko” Hill Sr.
