According to high school star football player Cordell Broadus, seventeen universities have offered him athletic scholarships. “Miami offered me yesterday,” shared Cordell with 247 Sports at Nike Camp.
Although the star wide receiver is leaving his options open, he appears to be leaning more towards Florida State. “It’s Florida State,” said the high school Junior to 247. Cordell plans to visit the home of the Seminoles along with three other universities on the East Coast before committing to a school later this year.
While some question the 17-year-old’s decision to transfer from Diamond Bar High School in California to Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Cordell explained to media that he couldn’t have made a better choice. “The transition from Diamond Bar to Vegas was real exciting, real new to me. [It was] a different atmosphere, great coaches, great students, and everybody’s willing to help you,” said the athlete. “What I love about the football program is everybody is ready to compete. As soon as we walk in, we’re competing. And that’s just what it is out here. Everybody has that ‘win’ mentality.”
To date, Cordell has received scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Duke University, and USC. He will make his final decision on what school to attend on signing day.
