“[I tell him], ‘You need to knock on my door, you need to ask permission and I am drawing this very thick line in the sand that you are not to cross,'” says Long. “The one thing my boys will always do is respect women,” adds the star. “And at the end of the day, if I’m doing nothing to make me happy, he’s not going to understand what a well-defined woman looks like, so he’s not going to find the partner that represents that.”

Nia put her networking skills to work in getting Massai a job on the set of The Single Moms Club a few months ago. “I asked [Tyler], ‘So who’s playing my son in the film?’ And he goes, ‘Well I don’t know. We’ll probably get a kid local in Atlanta.’ And I said, ‘Well you know my son is the same age as the character.’ He goes, ‘Really? I didn’t realize that.’ And I said ‘Yeah,'” explains the star.

You can expect to see Long and her son on the big screen when The Single Moms Club hits theaters on March 14, 2014. Nia Long also has a son named Kez (pictured above).
