Antwan Andre Patton, a.k.a. Big Boi, is not giving up his parental rights without a fight. The rapper recently took his estranged wife, Sherlita Patton, to court in hopes of getting joint custody of their 12-year-old son, Cross. Although Sherlita has filed for sole custody of the tween, Antwan told the courts that he believes his son would benefit from spending time with both parents. Big Boi is willing to pay any amount of child support that the Georgia court system deems necessary to take care of Cross but has suggested that Sherlita pursue a career to support herself.
Ludacris is also facing child support woes as he told a judge earlier this week that he was unable to pay a whopping $15,000 to Tamika Fuller for 2-month-old daughter Cali. TMZ reports,
“Ludacris was in court Wednesday with his baby mama, Tamika Fuller … who’s demanding Luda pay her $15K a month to take care of his 2-month-old baby daughter, Cai. But Luda went to court and told the judge … he was counting on ‘Fast and Furious 7’ money to make his payments, and the movie is now on hold so his payday went away. Luda claims he can only pay $1,800 a month — confessing he only made around $55K for 2013. The judge split the baby down the middle, ordering Luda to pay 7K a month for now.”
Ludacris confirmed his fathering of little Cali a few weeks ago. The rapper also has a daughter named Karma from a previous relationship. Big Boi and Sherlita moved to divorce in October after determining that their union was “irretrievably broken.” The Pattons also have a daughter named Jordan who graduated from high school last year.
