Fatherhood has completely transformed Kanye West. The rapper recently sat down with San Francisco’s 99.7 radio station to talk about his new life as a father and soon-to-be husband of Kim Kardashian.
“It gives you real perspective of the American dream, the world dream,” said West of being a family man. “The meaning of life to me is life itself, family…It’s one thing for me to say I want to do things to help the world, it’s another thing to really have a family, to really understand what it means to be a dad.”
The rapper couldn’t help but dote on his fiancee, Kim Kardashian, whom he asked to marry him a few days ago. “She gave me a beautiful daughter and she has an amazing, beautiful family, who are now also my family,” gushed the star. “Just the stability in this astronaut ride of life, particularly of fame, to have someone who understands, who’s that sweet, who doesn’t want me for my money. She looks pretty good, too,” added West.
Kim told E! that she shared the good news of her and Kanye’s engagement with baby North shortly after agreeing to marry Kanye at the ATT Park in San Francisco, California. “I took [the engagement ring] off and put it on her,” said Kim. “We brought it to her right after and told her.”
North West is Kanye and Kim’s first child together. She was born on June 15, 2013.
