LL Cool J is a family man who knows that parenting is all about compromise. He tells media, “Being a working parent is about sacrifice, right? I have a dog and I’m allergic to dogs. That’s a perfect example. I’m sneezing, my eyes are red, I’m using eye drops. I got a daughter who loves a dog, [so] I got to have a dog. It’s crazy. What can I do?”
During family time, LL has many fun activities up his sleeve but, in the spirit of compromise, chooses to leave the decision-making process up to his kids. “Every one of them is different. And it’s about what they want to do. I make it about them,” says the Hip Hop artist.
LL Cool J tells media that his favorite aspect of school was sports. “As a student I loved basketball, I loved boxing,” explains the artist. “I still love boxing. Boxing is my favorite sport. I loved all athletics. I’ve always been a very sports-oriented, athletic kind of guy — whether it was weightlifting, exercising, martial arts, football, basketball, baseball … I’ve just always loved athletics.” The rap star has four children-Italia, Samaria, Najee, and Nina-with wife Simone Smith.
