Shamicka will make her television debut on Sunday (August 4) when this season of ‘Hollywood Exes’ continues on VH1. Although she never saw herself as a reality star, Shamicka says that her goal in being a part of the ‘Exes’ cast is to encourage women who are battling through divorce. “My main goal [in doing ‘Hollywood Exes’] was to inspire women that are going through a divorce,” says the star. “To let them know they can still be strong. It’s a tough situation but it doesn’t have to be as bad. Through every storm, there’s always clear skies ahead. No matter what I’m going through, I never put my problems on anyone else, and I still have God in my life and he’s given me the gift of joy. I just want to be able to inspire,” explains Lawrence.
Shamicka wed Martin Lawrence in 2010 at the comedian’s home in Beverly Hills. The couple filed for divorce last year, citing irreconcilable differences as their reason for separation. Iyanna and Amara are the former couple’s daughters. ‘Hollywood Exes’ airs Sunday at 10/9C.
