Simone Smith, wife of rapper L.L. Cool J, and daughter Samaria Smith,17, showed their support for lemonade and children’s cancer awareness over the weekend. The pair stopped by Alex’s Lemonade Culinary Event at Culver Studios in Culver City, California on Saturday, September 29, 2012, and Simone was completely honed into all of the organization’s activities. The event carried sentimental value for L.L. Cool J’s wife as she is a cancer survivor herself.
For more than a decade, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has worked to eradicate childhood cancer. In the spirit of its founder, Alexandra Scott, Alex’s Lemonade Stand has given upward of $1 million in hopes of finding a cure for the childhood disease that takes the lives of thousands of little ones every year. The Stand spreads awareness about cancer and its effects on children annually through various community functions. This year’s event was a big success.
