The book “Bully Bullies” is a fictional story about a 7-year-old little girl named Zolie Zi, who is bullied by classmates because she speaks with a lisp, a speech impediment. Zolie Zi is normally a very happy person who loves school until she has to face a very difficult problem with two of her classmates who find it fun to bully her every day. But here’s the worst thing about her being bullied: She doesn’t want to go to school at all anymore. Will Zolie do the right thing and tell her teacher or a responsible adult that she is being bullied? Or will she spend her entire school year being bullied?
Zolie Zi is the main character and narrator in a realistic and comical series of children’s books. Introduced as a second grader at Helping Hands Academy for Gifted and Talented Children, Zolie has many of the characteristics of childhood: respect for her parents, love of reading, love of science, and she asks a lot of questions about everything because she wants to know why? And because she is Zolie Zi and don’t you forget it!
Zolie Zi is a collection of books inspired by the author’s 6-year-old niece who has a lisp. Knowing at some point she would experience bullying because of her lisp and the author, Sonya Bowser, decided to address the problem through Zolie’s first book “Bully Bullies” before she would have to face it in her life. Bowser was also inspired by nationwide cases of bullying.
“Bully Bullies” is a good read for elementary and middle school aged children.
This fantastic read is an audio book which means it comes with an audio CD in the back of the book, so little ones can read along.
