Actor Jaden Smith,13, has partnered with Pencils of Promise to bring improved educational resources to the children of Ban Sanouk, Laos. Smith recently donated a poem for auctioning called “Poem of Promise.”

The poem was written by Jaden himself in response to the charity’s “Made with Pencils” campaign which challenges notable persons like Smith to create a artwork using a pencil. Bidding has already reached $251 and is expected to grow before its close on December 30, 2011.

Pencils of Promise has made education possible for thousands of children since its inception. The organization has found much favor with Justin Bieber over the years and now Smith joins its fan base. Olivia Wilde, Shaquille O’Neal, and Lea Michele have also contributed poems to the campaign.
