Ashanti and Nelly are giving fans a closer look at their son Kareem Kenkaide “KK” Haynes’ second birthday party.
The couple celebrated their little one in July, but Ashanti waited until Sept. 19 to share a video recap of the event.
Alongside the clip, she wrote, “We can not believe our little heart beat is two years old!!!! The joy and love you bring is more than we could have ever dreamed of.”
She continued, “Mommy and Daddy celebrate you every single day and we are so blessed to celebrate your 2nd birthday, surrounded by family, friends, and an abundance of love and laughter. Happy Birthday KK!!!!! Mommy and Daddy love you infinitely.”
Ashanti admitted that the birthday recap was arriving a little late.
“Yeah….. I know I’m super late… July 2026,” she joked.
The party was dubbed “KK TWO FAST” and featured toy cars, blue décor and appearances from Bluey and Mickey Mouse mascots.
On Tuesday, Ashanti returned to Instagram with a set of family photos that offered a closer look at their custom outfits. KK, whose face was covered, wore an outfit featuring Bluey and Mickey Mouse, while his parents sported matching family tees.
Nelly’s shirt featured a cartoon version of KK riding in a blue convertible along with the message, “KK Blue Through ‘One’ Next Stop Two.”
“Magical family moments. KK ‘2’ fast!!” Ashanti captioned the carousel.
KK was born on July 18, 2024, and is Ashanti’s first child and Nelly’s youngest. Since welcoming their son, the couple has chosen not to publicly show his face.
Ashanti previously explained the decision while promoting Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together.
“I just feel like I’m kind of like a mama bear already, you know? Very protective,” she said. “I didn’t wanna show my son to the world.”
She added, “I just feel like those moments are very sacred to me, and we’ll make the decision on when he’s ready to pop out and show.”
