Surprise! Quavo is a dad of two.
Just one day after introducing his daughter to the world, the 35-year-old rapper shared during a Spotify conversation with Yung Miami that he also has a son.
“Is it true that you’re a father?” Miami asked.
“Yes, I am a father,” he replied.
Yung Miami then asked how many children he has.
“I have a boy and I have a girl,” he said. “It’s a blessing. I’ve been waiting for that for a minute.”
The answer came as a surprise to fans who thought Quavo only had a daughter.
Earlier this week, he shared a glimpse of the baby girl in visuals for his upcoming album, QRÖMELIFE. The reveal led several outlets to report that she was his first child.
But during his conversation with Yung Miami, Quavo made it clear that he has two children and explained why being present for them is especially important to him.
“My dad died at four,” he said. “So, I just want to be present all times. I just want to be there. I want to be the man.”
Quavo also spoke about the responsibility that has come with being a parent.
“Fatherhood challenged me. You know what I’m saying? It put me in a point to where, okay, now I got to step up and be responsible.”
He continued, “Be responsible, be accountable, and also control my emotions. You don’t want to be mad when you come inside and you can’t make a hit or you can’t make a song or upset. Your kids can’t see that.”
Quavo previously spoke about the joys of being a dad during a recent interview with Complex.
“It brings joy to me. It brings a new reason why I’m doing this. It brings, like, a new hunger, a new fire to me,” he said. “I’m just, you know, proud to be a father now.”
He also admitted that his daughter brings out a softer side of him.
“Just seeing her, like, seeing her smile, you know, seeing her call me Dad, just looking just like me. That’s the scary and beautiful part about it,” Quavo said. “I’m real sensitive when it come to that. That’s my soft part.”
