IMAN SHUMPERT SHARES BACK-TO-SCHOOL PHOTOS FEATURING TEYANA TAYLOR AND THEIR DAUGHTERS

Iman Shumpert is celebrating the start of a new school year for his daughters, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr. and Rue Rose Shumpert.

The former NBA star posted several first-day-of-school photos on Instagram on Thursday and simply captioned the post, “First Day.”

In one photo, Junie and Rue posed alongside their mom, Teyana Taylor, beneath a red, white and blue balloon display. The family moment was especially notable given Taylor and Shumpert’s previously strained co-parenting relationship.

Other photos showed the sisters posing together with their backpacks. Junie wore a white polo shirt with a khaki skirt, while Rue sported a red polo dress.

Shumpert and Taylor finalized their divorce in 2024 following a contentious split.

The actress opened up about their co-parenting relationship in a 2025 interview and admitted that maintaining a peaceful dynamic has not always been easy.

“Co-parenting is a little tough because when things are going too good, someone [can] make that go real bad,” she said, adding that her goal is to keep things peaceful.

To help maintain structure, Taylor revealed that she and Shumpert use the TalkingParents app to communicate about their daughters while avoiding unnecessary conflict.

“It controls your tone. It controls whatever it is. At this point, if it doesn’t have anything to do with the kids, we don’t have anything to talk about,” she explained.

Still, the mom of two said she makes an effort to include Shumpert in family milestones.

“I always reach out to him. I’m like, ‘Yo, I’m doing Junie’s birthday. I’m doing Rue’s birthday. Would you like us to do it together?’ And he’s like, ‘Nah, I’m good.’ I don’t entertain the shots that are being thrown. Here’s the invite. If you want to pop in, cool,” she shared.

The A Thousand and One star also made it clear that she would welcome a healthier dynamic with her ex.

“If he was like, ‘Yo, T, I want us to really stop being silly and let’s really try and healthily co-parent,’ I would absolutely be down,” Taylor said.

Despite their difficult history, Taylor has maintained that Junie and Rue remain her priority.

“These kids come first. And that’s been the main reason why I’ve wanted to keep everything private. So my job is to protect them no matter what. And I think that’s where, like, I keep, you know, just trying to hold on and hold it down.”
