Candace Parker is soaking in one of the biggest moments of her career with her biggest supporters by her side.
The retired WNBA superstar shared a carousel of photos from her Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame induction weekend, giving fans a glimpse of the family celebration. Alongside the pictures, Parker kept the caption simple, writing, “My real MVP season.”
The post featured Parker posing with all three of her children, including daughter Lailaa and sons Airr Larry and Hartt Summitt. In one photo, the family smiles together on the Hall of Fame red carpet, while another shows one of her sons standing proudly in front of his mom’s Hall of Fame display. Additional images captured candid moments from the weekend as the family celebrated the milestone together.
The post comes just weeks after Parker was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame on June 27.
The honor is only the beginning of a milestone summer for the basketball legend. Parker is also set to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame during Enshrinement Weekend on Aug. 14–15 in Springfield, Mass.
In a recent interview, Parker reflected on what she hopes her children will remember about her career.
“It’s so interesting because I have my daughter who’s been through my entire career. And then I have my two sons where my oldest son, he was born when I was playing but at the end and doesn’t remember. And then my youngest son has no idea. And so I just hope that they look back and know that, you know, I was passionate about basketball. I love to play. And I don’t know, I was pretty good,” Parker said.
Despite a résumé that includes WNBA championships, Olympic gold medals, NCAA titles and MVP honors, Parker said the accomplishment she’s proudest of is winning at every level.
“I think the proudest accomplishment that I’ve ever had is that I’ve won at every level,” Parker said. “Like, winning and hanging a banner was my mission. Whatever gym I stepped into, like I would always look up into the rafters and see the banners on the wall and like want to add my name to that. And I think that winning is something that you can’t dispute. Um, and winning multiple times is something that you can’t dispute. And so with that being said, you know, to sit here and have done it multiple times at different levels, I think that’s the thing I’m most proud of.”
For Parker, however, the photos suggest this Hall of Fame season isn’t just about basketball history. It’s about sharing the moment with the people she calls her “real MVPs.”
