Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and husband Israel Houghton celebrated their son Ever James’ fourth birthday on Wednesday.
The couple marked the occasion with a family dinner at The Oyster Box and shared sweet birthday tributes on Instagram.
“Happy Birthday to the boy who has my whole heart,” Adrienne wrote alongside photos of Ever. “The boy who made me a mom & changed my life forever.”
The actress and television personality went on to describe her son as her “miracle” and “answered prayer.”
“You are my miracle. My answered prayer… I thank God for your life everyday!” Adrienne continued. “I love your face, your big beautiful eyes, the way you laugh, the way you love to make us laugh, I love holding your hand that fits so perfectly in mine, cuddling with you in bed, playing soccer with you, dancing to your favorite songs on repeat, and just watching you become everything God designed you to be! I love youuuuuu… Let the birthday fun begin! Besos Xx.”
Israel also celebrated his son’s special day with a Lion King-themed birthday message.
“It’s a Lion King Birthday for Ever James,” Israel wrote. “Hard to believe 4 years have flashed by since the birth of this GIFT to our lives @everjames.”
Reflecting on the past four years, the Grammy-winning producer shared how quickly Ever’s interests have changed.
“Time has quite literally flown, and we’ve gone through so many versions of what he likes and connects to… From La Vaca Lola to Ms Rachel, to Isa, to Hotwheels, to Sonic, to Danny Go to Leo the Wildlife Ranger, to Cristiano Ronaldo & ALL things soccer… he’s Ever evolving and always amazing us,” Israel continued. “Grateful to God for this little supernova. We love you sooooo much. Happy Birthday Ever James Bailon-Houghton.”
Ever’s birthday comes nearly two years after Adrienne opened up about the emotional and financial journey she and Israel endured before becoming parents.
In 2024, the former The Real co-host revealed that the couple spent more than $1 million on fertility treatments over six years while trying to conceive.
“I only did eight cycles of IVF, but that doesn’t include the amount of IUIs I did and every other kind of imaginable treatments that you could imagine for fertility,” Adrienne told People. “So it was a pretty tough six years of trying to have my son.”
When asked about the total cost of their fertility journey, Adrienne estimated that they spent “easily over a million.” She also acknowledged that spending that amount “is not realistic for the average person.”
Adrienne and Israel welcomed Ever via surrogate in August 2022 and shared the news with fans on their social media pages.
“We have quietly prayed while sitting on this most magnificent secret for the last 9 months,” Adrienne wrote when announcing his birth. “He is worth every tear, every disappointment, every delayed prayer, every IVF cycle, every miscarriage. Everything. All we feel is joy and overwhelming love & gratitude.”
