‘DRAGON STRIKER’ SEASON 2 SET FOR EARLY 2027 DEBUT ON DISNEY XD AND DISNEY+

Dragon Striker is coming back for another season.

Less than a month after the animated sports fantasy series premiered, Disney has confirmed that Dragon Striker will return for Season 2 in early 2027 on Disney XD and Disney+. The announcement was made during the show’s panel at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, where fans also got their first look at the upcoming season.

The new episodes will see Key and the Knights facing their biggest challenge yet as they continue their journey at Kal Asterock. Along the way, relationships will be tested, long-hidden truths will come to light and a new threat will raise the stakes as the team fights for a spot in the Banner’s Helm final.

Akshay Kumar returns as Key alongside Rebecca LaChance as Ssyelle, Yeukayi Ushe as Milo, Waylon Jacobs as Odward and Evanna Lynch as Ameline.

Award-winning composer Kevin Penkin returns for Season 2, with a score recorded in Japan alongside an 80-piece orchestra. The opening theme, “Power of the Dragon,” was written and produced by Cash Callaway and performed by Sarah West, while Kieran Rhodes performs the end credits song, “The Very End.”

The series comes from Disney Kids & Family and is produced by La Chouette Compagnie in association with Disney Television Animation. Co-creators Sylvain Dos Santos and Charles Lefebvre return alongside head writer Paul McKeown.

Season 1 introduced viewers to Key, a farm boy with dreams of playing Gorotama. After earning a spot at Kal Asterock, a school for students with extraordinary abilities, he learns he may be the legendary Dragon Striker. Alongside goalkeeper Ssyelle and the rest of the Knights, he soon learns that the biggest battles aren’t always the ones played on the field.

All 11 episodes of Season 1 are currently streaming on Disney+ and Hulu ahead of Season 2’s debut in early 2027.
