CIARA FEELS ‘EMPOWERED’ AS SHE AND RUSSELL WILSON AWAIT BABY NO. 5

Ciara says she is feeling “empowered” as she prepares to welcome baby No. 5.

During a Friday appearance on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle alongside her husband, Russell Wilson, the singer reflected on turning another year older and how she feels about becoming a mom again.

“I turned 41, okay? So I feel really good,” she said, adding, “I feel so empowered carrying our fifth baby, 41, feeling younger than ever. I’m really excited.”

Earlier in the segment, Russell said he always knew “Cinco” would come. The two had talked about how many kids they wanted when they first met. “She always wanted five,” he said.

“I’m an only child. I want a big family,” Ciara said. “I love being a mom. It’s my favorite job in the world.”

She went on to say that Russell makes her deliveries feel “like a vacation.” They set up twinkle lights and Apple TV in the room and bring their favorite pillows from home.

“He is into it with me, very calm,” she said.

Russell, a former quarterback, joked, “I like hiking the babies out.”

Pregnancy this time around hasn’t been much different for Ciara. “It’s kind of the same. Nausea a little longer. Overall, I’m rolling,” she said.

“Not only are you rolling, you are doing backflips,” Sheinelle Jones joked.

Jenna Bush Hager mentioned seeing Ciara do her signature backbend during “Like a Boy” at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

“That was the last time I did that on this journey,” the singer joked.
