PEABO BRYSON DIES AT 75, LEAVES BEHIND TWO KIDS

Legendary singer Peabo Bryson has died at the age of 75. He leaves behind two children and a career that spanned more than five decades.

The Grammy Award-winning artist, who is behind some of music’s most beloved ballads and Disney classics, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, according to a statement released by his family.

“He transitioned peacefully at 5:00 p.m. ET on the evening of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and those closest to him,” the statement read.

The statement continued, “We are tremendously moved by the outpouring of love, prayers and support from fans, friends, and colleagues around the world. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing how deeply Peabo was loved and how many lives were touched by his voice and his generous spirit. His legacy and music will live on for generations to come.”

Just days before his passing, Bryson shared what would become his final Instagram post. The proud father posted a video of his young son, Robert, dancing onstage to a Michael Jackson song during a performance in Atlanta.

“Super proud Dad moment from last nights Gig in Atlanta. Keep shining Kitt,” he captioned the clip.

For many fans, the post now serves as a touching final glimpse into the singer’s life away from the spotlight.

Born Robert Peapo “Peabo” Bryson on April 13, 1951, in Greenville, South Carolina, Bryson discovered his love for music at an early age.

Over the course of his career, Bryson became known for timeless hits including “Feel the Fire,” “I’m So Into You,” “Can You Stop the Rain,” “If Ever You’re in My Arms Again,” and “Reaching for the Sky.” He also reached a new generation of listeners through his iconic Disney duets, including “Beauty and the Beast” and “A Whole New World.”

Bryson is survived by his wife, Tanya Boniface, whom he married in 2010, their son Robert, who was born in 2018, and his daughter Linda, whom he welcomed in 1968 from a previous relationship.
