During a previous appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the multi-hyphenate entertainer revealed that he has 12 grandkids. However, only eight have been publicly identified.

“My grandpa was my best friend, and for me to be that for my grandkids is showing that I actually did well and I was able to outlive the circumstances,” Snoop said. “Now I can look back. I can teach those who want to get to this level. Or at least give them a blueprint and help them avoid some of the traps that I had to deal with.”

The latest PAW Patrol movie takes the rescue pups far from Adventure Bay after a mysterious storm sends their ship off course. The group ends up on a remote tropical island that is home to dinosaurs, volcanoes, and other unexpected challenges. The pups soon meet Rex, a dog who has lived on the island for years and knows how to survive in the prehistoric environment.

Trouble begins when Mayor Humdinger starts mining the island for natural resources. His actions trigger a dormant volcano, and the pups must race to protect the island and everyone who calls it home.

Director and co-writer Cal Brunker believes the latest installment is the franchise’s strongest yet.

“I think this one is the best of the three movies,” Brunker told Animation Magazine in a recent interview. “It’s also my favorite because I’m somebody who has loved dinosaurs all my life. It’s been a dream to get to make a movie with the pups and dinosaurs together.”

Joining Snoop in the film are Mckenna Grace, Jennifer Hudson, Terry Crews, Paris Hilton, and Bill Nye. Mckenna Grace returns as Skye, while Carter Young reprises his role as Marshall.

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie opens in theaters nationwide on Aug. 14.
