PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie is headed to theaters on Aug. 14, 2026, and this time, the rescue pups are trading Adventure Bay for a tropical island packed with dinosaurs and volcanoes.
The upcoming movie follows the pups after their ship gets caught in a mysterious storm and crashes on an uncharted island. Once there, they meet Rex, a dog who has been stranded on the island for years and knows how to survive among the dinosaurs.
Things take a turn when Mayor Humdinger starts mining the island for natural resources and accidentally causes a dormant volcano to erupt. The pups are then forced into a series of massive rescue missions to save the island before everything is destroyed.
“This is the biggest adventure the pups have been on by far,” director and co-writer Cal Brunker said in an interview. “It’s my favorite PAW Patrol movie yet, definitely an adventure to experience on the largest screen possible!”

Beyond the dinosaur chaos, the movie also carries a message about inclusion.
Rex uses a wheeled walker throughout the film, something Brunker said is simply part of the character’s everyday life on the island.
“To him, it’s second nature; he’s figured out how to move through the jungle with ease,” Brunker explained. “He swings on vines, rolls down roots, and rides on the back of a giant T-Rex named Timmy.”
“We think it’s important that everyone in our audience can see themselves reflected on the screen. Everyone has a hero inside them, just like the pups,” he added.

The movie also touches on learning from mistakes through Marshall, the clumsy but lovable fire rescue pup on the PAW Patrol team.
“In this movie, Marshall struggles with his clumsiness and all the mistakes he keeps making,” Brunker shared. “Over the course of the movie, he learns that everybody makes mistakes. Mistakes are how you get better. The important thing is to be the pup who never gives up.”

Between the dinosaurs, volcanoes and giant rescue scenes, this may end up being the most chaotic PAW Patrol movie yet, which honestly sounds exactly like what kids are going to love about it.
The movie stars returning voice actors Mckenna Grace as Skye and Carter Young as Marshall. Celebrity voices joining the cast include Jennifer Hudson, Terry Crews, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton and Bill Nye.
