Garcelle Beauvais and her son, Jaid Thomas Nilon, stepped out for Lionsgate’s Michael Los Angeles premiere at the Dolby Theatre on April 20, 2026.
The two posed together on the carpet as cameras captured them for the highly anticipated biopic centered on Michael Jackson.
Also in attendance was Stephen A. Smith, who appeared alongside his daughter Samantha Smith.
While several notable names made appearances, it was young actor Juliano Krue Valdi who drew attention on the carpet. At one point, Valdi broke into dance, bringing a burst of energy that reflected the legacy he portrays in the film.
Valdi stars as a young version of Jackson in Michael, portraying the icon during his Jackson 5 era. Known for his viral dance videos prior to landing the role, he was selected to help capture the performer’s early rise and signature movement style.
During a conversation with Extra TV, Valdi spoke about the experience of being part of the Michael film and attending the premiere.
“It’s amazing. I feel great. I’m excited for new people to see the movie,” he said. “I can’t wait for you to see it. It’s an amazing masterpiece, and I’m really grateful.”
He continued, “The directors and the producers of this movie really brought Michael Jackson to life in this one. I want them to see me bring the energy of Michael Jackson.”
Valdi also reflected on the moment of walking the carpet for the first time.
“I never thought that I’d be here in a million years. So to have a red carpet is truly special.”
Michael, directed by Antoine Fuqua, also stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s nephew, as the adult version of the singer. The cast includes Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, and Miles Teller as manager John Branca.
